Home Remedies for dark neck

People usually feel irritated when they notice a major difference between the color of their face and neck. We generally look after our faces with facials, scrubbing, etc. But we forget about our neck which is equally exposed to sun, pollution, and dust.  It is very important to cleanse your neck along with your face, but it is also essential to scrub and moisturize it on a daily basis. If you have not started looking after your neck, its time to try some home remedies. Excessive usage of chemical-based skincare products can be harmful to the skin, so better to go for simple harmless home remedies.

 

1. Yogurt 

Yogurt has natural enzymes. This enzyme combines with acid in lemon and makes the skin smoother and fairer. It also nourishes the skin. Take two tablespoons of yogurt and mix with a teaspoon of lemon juice. Apply the mixture on the neck. Leave it for about 20 minutes and then rinse it off.

2. Potato Juice 

Potato has bleaching properties that help to lighten the skin to a certain extent. It also helps to detach the dark patches and makes your skin tone even. Crush a small potato and take out all the juice. Apply the juice on your necklet it dry completely. Rinse it off with lukewarm water. To get the best results repeat the process twice a day.

3. Baking Soda 

Baking soda is very useful to take off the dead cells and dirt from your skin. It is alkaline in nature, thus balances the pH levels of your skin to make it glow. Moreover, it also nourishes your skin from within. Make a paste with 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda and water. Apply this paste on the neck and leave for some time till it gets dry. After that using wet fingers scrub it off. Rinse your neck well with water. Moisturize your skin well. 

4. Apple Cider Vinegar 

Apple cider vinegar helps to maintain the pH level of the skin, thus giving it a natural glow. It also helps to remove dead skin cells. It is a good exfoliator due to the presence of malic acid in the apple cider vinegar

Make a solution with two tablespoons of apple cider vinegar and four tablespoons of water. Apply this solution on to your neck area using a cotton ball. Leave it for 10 minutes. Rinse it off with water. Use this method every alternate day. It's important to moisturize your skin after applying apple cider vinegar as it makes your skin dry. 

5. Orange Peel Powder

Orange is a big source of Vitamin C which helps in skin lightening. Dry some orange peel under the sun. Make powder using a blender. To this orange peel, the powder adds some milk and apply on the neck. Scrub for 10-15 minutes and wait for some time so that it gets completely dry. Rinse off with water. Repeat this process every day to get the best results.

6. Honey And Lemon Mask

Lemon has skin whitening properties. And honey has moisturizing properties. When mixed together can bring the magic. It is one of the most common and popular remedies used by many people. Make a mixture of 2-3 spoons of honey and lemon. Apply the mixture on the neck area. Allow it to dry and rinse it off with water.

7. Almond Oil And Castor Oil

Almond oil and castor oil helps to make the skin moisturized and hydrated. This is another great remedy. Make a mixture of 5-8 spoons of almond oil with 10 drops of castor oil. Apply the mixture on the neck area. Massage for some time and rinse it off with lukewarm water. Thus makes the skin brighter and fairer.

8. Cucumber and Lemon

Cucumber makes the skin glow and feels fresh. They have a very soothing effect on the skin. Lemon juice contains citric acid which helps in the lightening of the hyperpigmentation. Make a solution with an equal amount of cucumber juice and lemon juice. Apply on the neck area using cotton balls. Leave it on the neck for ten minutes and then rinse off with water. This helps in lightening any hyperpigmentation.

9. Oats and Tomato

The mixture of oat and tomato helps to exfoliate the skin and remove hyperpigmentation. Grind the oat and blend the tomato into a puree. Mix both the oat and tomato puree to get a paste. Apply on the neck area and leave for 20 minutes. Scrub it off and rinse with cold water. It's important to moisturize well after using this method. Repeat this process twice a week.

10. Aloe vera

By limiting the production of melanin, the minerals and vitamins present in the aloe vera reduce pigmentation. Cut an aloe vera leaf, extract the gel. Apply the gel on your neck area and scrub it for a few minutes. Leave the gel on the neck area for half an hour and rinse it off with water. 

11. Turmeric

Turmeric is used to brighten the skin tone, from the ancient times it is used in many beauty products. It also repairs the damaged skin cells. Take 1-2 tablespoons of plain yogurt and mix with 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder. Apply this paste on the neck area. After 15 minutes rinse it off with lukewarm water. Repeat these steps every day for good results. 

12. Egg white

Make a foam by whipping the egg white. Add a spoon of honey or glycerin into it. Apply this paste on your neck area and leave it for 30 minutes. This remedy will quickly brighten up the skin tone.

13. Vitamin E capsule

 Vitamin E is a powerful antioxidant and can help to rejuvenate the skin. Pierce about 3-4 vitamin E capsules and transfer the oil to another bowl. Apply the oil on the neck area and massage it for a few minutes. Leave it overnight. Repeat these steps every night before going to bed.

The return to school is an important and hopefully welcome step, but you and your children likely have many questions. Not all schools will resume on-campus learning this fall, but some will and others may follow in the near future. No matter when your child's campus reopens, you'll see changes designed to keep kids safe, such as spacing desks farther apart.

Schools will be making changes to their policies and operations with several goals: supporting learning; providing important services, such as school meals, extended daycare, extracurricular activities, and social services; and limiting the transmission of SARS-CoV-2, the virus that causes COVID-19. Teachers and staff can teach and encourage preventive behaviors at school. Likewise, it will be important for families to emphasize and model healthy behaviors at home and to talk to your children about changes to expect this school year. Even if your child will attend school in-person, it is important to prepare for the possibility of virtual learning if the school closes or if your child becomes exposed to COVID-19 and needs to stay home.

Parents: Parents should ask their child’s teacher or school administrator to confirm the changes made in the school against Covid-19? What steps has the school taken to help make sure the safety of students? How will the school support the mental health of students and combat any stigma against people who have been sick? How will the school refer to children who may need referrals for specialized support? Will any of the school’s safeguarding and bullying policies change once schools start to re-open? So, greatly inspect your child all day with respect to the symptoms such as taste loss or smell lose, cold, diarrhea, headache, muscle pain, nausea or vomiting, symptoms of a cold such as a sore throat, congestion, or a runny nose, tiredness, a rash, belly pain, feeling very tired, fever, neck pain, red eyes, cracked lips, swollen hands or feet, swollen lymph nodes, vomiting or diarrhea. Parents should also alert the school administrator regarding symptoms. 

Reduce sharing: Parents should warn the children to reduce sharing if it is not urgent.

1.Give food rich in vitamins and minerals

2.Scrap the sugar

It is actually impossible to totally avoid sugar from the baby's diet. But you can limit the usage of sugar in her diet especially the refined sugar. Keep the number of sweets to a minimum level. Not more than twice a day or just serve it with meals.

3.Stick to water

It is recommended to give only milk and water to babies. Other liquids such as juices should not be given over a prolonged period of time. The reason is that there are bacteria in the mouth which converts the natural or added sugar in the liquid to acid. This can decay the teeth, as the acid dissolves the outer part of teeth. Juices should be given once in a while, but it is better to skip the juice to reduce the sugar intake. 

4.No sharing spoons

The main reason for tooth decay is a type of bacteria known as streptococcus mutans, that lives in the mouth. Through saliva, it is easily spread from parents to children and between children. The bacteria feeds on sugar and other food waste in the mouth It leads to tooth decay as the bacteria produce acids that break down calcium in the teeth. 

5.Use a cup instead of a bottle

After combing those components, add a 1/4cup of white vinegar and then soak your fingers in the solution for about 10 minutes. After soaking, wash your fingers with fresh water and dry them fully.

Black tea: Make a tea to cool and soak fingers for thirty minutes. Use this finger soak daily if needed.

Clean socks and shoes:  Use an antibacterial spray to remove Bactria from shoes and socks. Wash your socks in hot water with bleach to kill any Bactria. Please try to clean your feet every day, Ensure that, utterly dry them later, Mainly between the toes where moisture occurs.

Epsom salt: Fill your bathtub or a basin with warm water until it’s deep enough to cover your feet. Add 1/2 cup of Epsom salt to the warm water. Allow your feet to become thoroughly wet by immersing it in liquid. Please repeat this for 30 to 60 minutes twice a week. 

Essential oils: Cinnamon Essential Oil, Tea Tree Essential Oil, Oregano Essential Oil. Please pour the fingers with the mentioned oils to 10 to 2 mins.  

Garlic: If your fungus is in the initial stage, applying the garlic cloves in the toe region of your socks at night before wearing them yields in the reduction of the infection. Pulverized garlic can be placed on the infected toenail, and washed after 30 minutes. Do not forget to wash your feet thoroughly before applying the garlic crush.

Hydrogen peroxide: When used for treating nail fungus, its anti-fungal properties kill the fungus and Bactria, letting the damaged part of your nails grow out. Gently flow the hydrogen peroxide straight onto the affected area. Using Hydrogen peroxide may hurt, and it also should bubble, mainly if you have open injures.

Mouthwash: A mouthwash foot soak is a type of remedy foot bath. Usage of any mouthwash can reduce the infection on the toenail. People also use Listerine on their feet to help clean the dead skin. Listerine is generally used to help prevent holes in the teeth and reduce pain in the gums, Listerine has many numbers of active ingredients.

Olive leaf extract: A compound in olive leaf extract named oleuropein, is one of the best anti-fungal, immune-improving, anti-parasitic, and antimicrobial capabilities, so it is treated to be a best natural remedy for toenail fungal.

Ozonated oils: Ozonated olive oil can be used super medicine for toenail fungus or athlete's foot.

Snakeroot extract: Once cleaning the nail you can use snake-root extract. Snake-root extract is come by plants in the sunflower household. Snake-root extract is one of the natural and safe home remedies for managing toenail fungus. Place the snakeroot extract to the infected nails either by dripping it straight on the nails or enclosing it around the nails on a gauze. Do this at least 3 times a week for maximum results.

When to introduce water to babies

Babies less than 4 months of age do not require any water to be separately provided to them. As they are breastfed or formula-fed.Thus their bodies are hydrated well from the fluid in their feed. For 6 months old babies, it depends on the baby and his/her food habits. If he/she is still breastfed, a few drops of water is enough to satisfy them. The baby who is breastfed or formula-fed for them dehydration is not a cause of concern as they are well hydrated from their feeds.

Water Intoxication in Babies

For adults intake of too much water doesn't cause any irreversible damage to health. But for babies it is dangerous. Children younger than 6 months of age giving them too much of water can damage the body’s natural potential to take up nutrients from breast milk or a formula feed. Sodium levels will be dropped if babies drink too much water in a short span of time. Their kidneys are not mature enough to handle large quantities of water at a time, and this can lead to a dangerous condition called water intoxication. If such a condition occurs, immediate medical attention is required. 

Is it necessary for Babies to Drink Water Sometimes?

It is said newborn babies don't need water to drink, as they grow older they will need. When they grow older you can safely introduce water into their diet. For 4-6 months old babies, they can drink about 30 ml of water. Don't give more water as it can affect negatively in baby's health. You can slowly increase the water quantity in his diet when your child reaches 9 months to 1 year of age. When he/she is one year old his body system is matured enough to metabolize or digest larger quantities of water. However, it is important to keep his water intake under regulation.

Babies often go a long time between bowel movements. It is said, for babies it is normal to go days or even more than a week without a bowel movement. Giving healthy food for our baby is a great process. While convenient, commercial baby foods may lose vitamins and nutrients during processing, as well as the “yumminess” that can make your baby excited to try new foods and combinations. Generally, waiting until 6 months to start adding in solid foods, but some people start as soon as 4 months as long as certain developmental stages have been reached. At 9 months, your baby is not quite ready to eat anything you can eat. But that does not mean to say the baby cannot join in with your meals, as long as you take baby's needs into account.


Provide food to your baby up to 3 times (meals) a day with 1 to 2 snacks, based on his hunger. Proceed to give a variety of foods and flavors to your baby. Give your baby foods with a variety of taste and feel, together with chopped, ground, pasty, soft foods and toast, crackers, or soft ripe fruit. Baby learns everything from parents, so please try to eat with your baby so that baby can watch you. Never discard a baby who is eating neglected.

Vegetables which rich with starch: Such as potato, sweet potato, beetroot (Boiled and Squashed). We can also provide foods such as easily digestible vegetables such as carrots, pumpkin, porridge, peas, or beans.

Green leafy vegetables: Always well wash, boil, and refine vegetables. Vegetables are a good root of iron and vitamins.

Fruits: Peaches, apples, pears, and can be boiled with a little water and given to the baby. Bananas, mangoes, and Kavi are starchy fruits that can be plucked and given to the baby. For juice, you can use fruits like apple, grape, pomegranate, and pineapple.

When babies touches the 6 month old milestone, it's time for them to step into the world of delicious and nutritious solids. Cow’s milk to drink: Cow's milk should not be given as a drink for baby up to 12 months. Compared to breast milk and formula, your growing baby needs less fat, calories and nutrients.

Honey: Honey contains a bacteria that can generate problems to your baby's intestine. Honey causes rare syndrome called infant botulism in babies. Honey is also a type of sugar, which can be bad for emerging teeth.

Eggs: Ensure that the eggs are correctly cooked , until both the white and yolk are solid.

Avoid soft sticky foods: Some foods, such as peanut butter are hard for babies to eat as their sticky thickness.

Whole nuts: Do not give whole nuts as they can cause shortness of breath. Instead, you can give powdered nuts with baby food.

Cheese: Don’t give soft, impure or blue cheeses in the 1st year due to risk of food poisoning.

Kiwi fruit: kiwi fruit most likely to cause an allergic reaction to babies.

Salt: Babies’ kidneys are not mature to process salt and it can also come up with dehydration, so it shouldn’t be added to food before 12 months.

Sugar: Sugar shouldn't be given to babies as it contain 

High fiber foods: Babies can get too full and not eat enough calories. High fiber foods can also interfere with your baby’s absorption of key nutrients. Avoid giving high fiber foods like bran, brown pasta and brown rice.

2.Apple Cider Vinegar

Apple cider vinegar contains strong anti-fungal and antibacterial properties that help you get rid of the dead skin cells on your scalp and thus helps to clear the scalp. Add 2 tablespoons of Apple Cider Vinegar in a cup of water. Wash your hair with any mild shampoo. Then rinse your hair with the solution made earlier.

3.Baking Soda

It has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties that kills pathogens causing skin problem that lead to itchiness. You need to mix 2-3 tablespoons of baking soda in water and apply the paste on your scalp. Let it stay for 10-15 minutes and then rinse off.

4.Olive Oil

It contains oleocanthal and oleuropei, components that have strong anti-inflammatory and skin protectant properties. Massage your scalp and hair with warm olive oil. Leave it overnight and in the morning wash off . 

5.Lemon Juice

Lemon juice acidic in nature and has  antimicrobial properties which helps in healing inflammation. Apply fresh lemon juice on your scalp using a cotton ball , leave it for 10 minutes and then rinse off.

6. Neem

As we all know ,Neem has antibacterial and anti-fungal properties ,it helps to reduce dandruff.For the hair mask, grind neem leaves into a paste, leave this paste on the scalp for 15 to 20 minutes and then use a mild shampoo. 

7.Garlic

People may say a No-No to garlic because of its pungent smell. But its medicinal value is very important. Garlic is immensely beneficial as an anti-fungal natural product and it has mesmerized man for centuries. Take two or three garlic and after mixing with water  use it on your scalp to see quick results.If the smell is irritating you could mix a little honey or ginger.

8.Aloe vera

Aloe Vera has a moisturizing effect. It also has antibacterial and anti fungal properties which gives relief from dandruff.  Apply Aloe Vera gel directly on your scalp and leave for about half an hour. And then wash your hair with a mild shampoo.

9.Fenugreek seeds

Fenugreek seeds are rich in protein, which prevent dryness, hair fall and dandruff. They also strengthen our hair roots and moisturize our scalp. Soak the fenugreek seeds overnight and then grind into a paste, apply on the scalp and hair, leave for 15 – 20 minutes and then clean using a mild shampoo.


 Note: Do not comb your hair using others hairbrush. Also, make sure you clean your hair once in two days. Regular cleaning of your hair will help prevent dandruff.
